SMWLOT The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Nearshore Waters from Wilmette Harbor to Calumet Harbor. Nearshore Waters from Calumet Harbor to Michigan City. Open Waters from Wilmette Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid Lake. * Until 400 AM CDT. * At 158 AM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Ohare Airport to 10 nm southwest of Hammond Marina, moving northeast at 25 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. Harrison-Dever Crib, 31st Street Harbor, Monroe Harbor, Burns Harbor, Calumet Harbor, Indiana Harbor, Montrose Harbor, Burnham Harbor, Hammond Marina, Jackson Park Harbor, Belmont Harbor, and Marina Shores at Dune Harbor.

The areas affected include. Nearshore and Open Waters from St Joseph to Pentwater MI. At 421 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated an area of thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. They stretched from was located 10 nm northwest of St. Joseph Light northward to Whitehall. They were moving northeast at 50 knots. Locations impacted include. South Haven Light, Saugatuck Pier Heads, St. Joseph Light, White Lake Pier Heads, Mona Lake Channel, The White Lake Pierheads, Little Sable Point Light, Grand Haven Light, Muskegon Light, and St. Joseph.

* WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of northwest Indiana, including the following counties, Lake IN and Porter. * WHEN. Until 500 AM CDT. * IMPACTS. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 203 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include.
