Helene continues to move north- northeastward at 24 mph. A gradual turn to the north and west of north is expected overnight followed by a turn northwestward and slow down over the Tennessee Valley on Friday and Saturday. Helene's wind field is unusually large with tropical storm force winds extending very far from the center and frequent tropical storm wind gusts continue to affect the Florida Keys. Despite Helene nearing landfall in the Big Bend, frequent wind gusts to 40 to 45 mph will continue in the Keys over the next few hours. Winds will trend downwards through the overnight.
