SMWKEY The National Weather Service in Key West has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Straits of Florida from Ocean Reef to Craig Key out 60 nm. * Until 845 AM EDT. * At 818 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm with possible waterspouts was located 10 nm southeast of Spiegel Grove, moving northeast at 20 knots. HAZARD. Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. National Weather Service Meteorologist. IMPACT. Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats, cause considerable damage to vessels and create suddenly higher waves. Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher waves, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours. * The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

In southern Florida, Glades and Hendry. In southwest Florida, Coastal Collier County, Inland Collier County and Mainland Monroe. * WHEN. Through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Enhanced tropical moisture will remain pooled across South Florida for much of the work week. Portions of South Florida observed 4-8 inches of rainfall on Tuesday and 3-6 inches of additional rainfall is expected through Thursday evening, with localized accumulations up to 8 inches possible.
