SMWMFL The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Waters from Deerfield Beach to Ocean Reef FL from 20 to 60 NM excluding the territorial waters of Bahamas. * Until 1145 PM EDT. * At 1041 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 25 nm east of Floyd's Wall Northeast, moving northeast at 20 knots. HAZARD. Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

The areas affected include. Biscayne Bay. Coastal waters from Deerfield Beach to Ocean Reef FL out 20 NM. Waters from Deerfield Beach to Ocean Reef FL from 20 to 60 NM excluding the territorial waters of Bahamas. At 1026 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located near Carysfort Reef Light, moving northeast at 20 knots.

Portions of southeast, southern, and southwest Florida, including the following areas, in southeast Florida, Coastal Broward County, Coastal Miami Dade County, Coastal Palm Beach County, Far South Miami-Dade County, Inland Broward County, Inland Miami-Dade County, Inland Palm Beach County, Metro Broward County, Metro Palm Beach County and Metropolitan Miami Dade. In southern Florida, Glades and Hendry. In southwest Florida, Coastal Collier County, Inland Collier County and Mainland Monroe. * WHEN. Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Rainfall amounts of 2 to 9 inches with isolated amounts up to 11 inches have fallen over South Florida since Tuesday morning. Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are still forecast to fall over South Florida through Friday evening. Until 800 AM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, canals, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several structures are flooded. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. Local media and emergency management have reported water rescues. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 726 PM EDT, emergency management reported flooding in the warned area due to heavy rainfall from thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 5 and 13 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include.
