Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel. * Strong thunderstorms will be near. Mayo, Shady Side, Deale, and Highland Beach around 345 PM EDT. Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Thomas Point Light, and Sandy Point State Park around 350 PM EDT. Matapeake and Bloody Point Light around 355 PM EDT. Poplar Island and Romancoke around 400 PM EDT. Parsons Island and Eastern Bay around 405 PM EDT. Miles River around 415 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by strong thunderstorms include Romancoke and Highland Beach.

At 419 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Glen Burnie to Shady Side to Sheridan Point. Movement was east at 35 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down small trees and blow around unsecured objects. Wind impacting handling of high profile vehicles. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Strong thunderstorms will be near. Taylors Island around 445 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by these storms include Madison, Taylors Island, Woolford, Andrews, Hoopersville, Hudson, Crocheron, Church Creek, Bucktown, and Wingate.

The areas affected include. Chesapeake Bay from Pooles Island to Sandy Point MD. Chesapeake Bay north of Pooles Island MD. Chester River to Queenstown MD. Patapsco River including Baltimore Harbor. At 340 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a gust front, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This front was located along a line extending from 21 nm northwest of Middle River to 14 nm west of Back River to 13 nm west of Annapolis, moving east at 20 knots. Locations impacted include. Pinehurst, Turkey Point, North Point State Park, Fort Smallwood Park, Hart Miller Island, Magothy River, Rock Hall, Dobbins Island, Gibson Island, Bodkin Point, Tolchester Beach, Pooles Island, Spesutie Island, Love Point, Gunpowder River, Sandy Point State Park, Baltimore Light, Northeast River, Sevenfoot Knoll, and Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Some showers and thunderstorms will move across the area through this evening. Some of the heavier showers or thunderstorms will be capable of producing locally gusty winds to around 40 mph and small hail. Local downpours can also occur resulting in some brief minor flooding. Any heavier showers and thunderstorms are expected to weaken or move offshore later this evening.
