For the White Clay Creek. including Newark. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. White Clay Creek near Newark. * WHEN. Until late this morning. * IMPACTS. At 11.0 feet, Flooding begins into adjacent open fields. At 13.3 feet, Delaware Route 7, Stanton Christiana Road, begins to flood. At 13.5 feet, Businesses on Delaware Route 7 begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 12:30 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 11.4 feet. - Forecast. The river will rise above flood stage early this morning to 14.0 feet early this morning. It will then fall below flood stage early this morning to 5.1 feet. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet. - Flood History. Northern New Castle County in northern Delaware. * Until 315 AM EDT. * At 1218 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT. Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. * Some locations that may experience flash flooding include. Wilmington, Newark, Elsmere, New Castle, Newport, Wilmington Manor, Delaware Memorial Bridge, Bellefonte, Edgemoor and Brookside. This includes Interstate 95 in Delaware between mile markers 5 and 16.
