Brief Description High Surf Advisory
Detailed Description HIGH SURF EXPECTED FOR SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA BEACHES MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY. .A BUILDING WEST SWELL WILL MOVE INTO THE COASTAL WATERS ON MONDAY. BRINGING HIGH SURF TO THE CENTRAL COAST BEACHES MONDAY MORNING AND TO WEST FACING BEACHES SOUTH OF POINT CONCEPTION BY LATE MONDAY AFTERNOON. THE SURF IS EXPECTED TO BUILD TO 10 TO 15 FEET ON THE CENTRAL COAST. AND TO 7 TO 10 FEET ON THE SOUTHERN SECTION BEACHES. THE HIGHEST SURF WILL BE ON WEST FACING BEACHES. THE HIGH SURF WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG RIP AND LONG-SHORE CURRENTS ON ALL AREA BEACHES. BEACH EROSION WILL BE POSSIBLE AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE. ESPECIALLY ON THE CENTRAL COAST. SNEAKER WAVES WILL BE POSSIBLE IN MANY AREAS AS WAVES MAY UNEXPECTEDLY WASH OVER ROCKS AND JETTIES. . HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM MONDAY TO 3 PM PST WEDNESDAY. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOS ANGELES/OXNARD HAS ISSUED A HIGH SURF ADVISORY. WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM MONDAY TO 3 PM PST WEDNESDAY. * SURF AND TIMING. SURF WILL BUILD TO 6 TO 9 FEET BY LATE MONDAY AFTERNOON WITH LOCAL SETS TO 12 FEET POSSIBLE DURING THE PEAK OF THE EVENT LATE MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY. HIGHEST ON WEST FACING BEACHES. THE HIGH SURF IS EXPECTED TO PERSIST THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. * IMPACTS. THE HIGH SURF AND STRONG RIP AND LONG-SHORE CURRENTS WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUS SWIMMING AND SURFING CONDITIONS. WAVES MAY OVER-TOP JETTIES AND SEA WALLS AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE.
