Brief Description Flood Advisory
Detailed Description The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Flood Advisory for the Mississippi River. Mississippi River Near Arkansas City affecting Chicot. Desha. Bolivar and Washington Counties Mississippi River Near Greenville affecting Chicot. East Carroll. Issaquena and Washington Counties Mississippi River At Vicksburg affecting Madison. Tensas. Claiborne. Jefferson and Warren Counties/Parishes Mississippi River At Natchez affecting Concordia. Adams and Wilkinson Counties/Parishes Synopsis. The wet pattern across the Lower Ohio and Lower Mississippi River Valley will continue into next week. Rainfall from 1 to 1.50 inches will occur across both river systems in the next 36 hours. Another 1.5 to 3.5 inches of rainfall is possible from Monday to Friday with some of the heavier totals being focused across the Lower Mississippi River Valley south of Cairo, IL. The currently official crest at Cairo, IL is 44.5 feet on the 14th. The Flood Advisory is being issued to inform about the return to a rising river that is currently expected to remain below flood stage with 24 hours of additional rainfall.The addition rainfall next work week has the potential to the take the river crests from Arkansas City to Natchez to the March levels or slightly higher. The is a lot of uncertainty in the amounts and placement of rainfall over the next week. Those with interests along the Mississippi River need to stay informed. The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a * Flood Advisory for The Mississippi River At Natchez. * until Monday April 20. * At 12:00 PM Thursday the stage was 47.4 feet. * Flood stage is 48.0 feet. * Forecast.
